Almost everybody promptly associates jeans pants with "Levi's" – this for sure is the result of the decades-long success of the American clothing brand "Levi Strauss & Co." By now, the history of the company fills entire books. In 1873, a patent was first granted on a pair of riveted work pants. Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis developed very sturdy pants made of denim which had been riveted at critical areas. After they had solely produced work pants for men over several years, the first Blue Jeans for women followed in the 1930s, capturing the world of women as Lady Levis. Today, the company has stopped producing workwear, but designs fashionable and contemporary streetwear instead.
