In the post-war period, photo bags and ski poles made from hazelnut wood became Salewa’s best selling products. In 1955, the company developed the iconic Andes backpack to support the Andes expedition of Hermann Huber. Today, the traditional brand is part of the Oberalp Group and based in Bolzano. In 2007, Salewa established a branch in Boulder, Colorado, to better serve the North American market – an important move for Europe’s leading mountain sports specialist. Additionally, Salewa opened several stores in other countries, e.g. in Korea, which is the most important market for outdoor equipment in Asia.
Salewa works closely with experienced alpinists to develop new outdoor products such as backpacks, hiking boots, technical apparel and climbing equipment meeting the most stringent quality requirements. Since 2005, the brand has also been developing footwear for mountaineering and leisure activities combining premium materials, comfort, reliability and durability. Built for the outdoors, these shoes will help you brave any weather. With Salewa you are perfectly equipped for your next outdoor adventure!
