The history of SCOTT started in 1958 when Ed Scott revolutionised the sport of skiing with his ski poles made from aluminium. Being a ski racer and talented engineer, he invented a tapered ski pole which immediately replaced the poles used until then. The brand had established its reputation and soon was a technical product leader in this market. After numerous inventions in the sport of skiing, motocross and cycling, the company launched its first running shoe collection in 2006. Since then, SCOTT has developed high-quality running shoes in collaboration with a research and development lab in Portland, Oregon.
